Let’s chat about our Indoor Loading Docks:

Storage Spot Canada’s facilities currently located in Milton and Burlington each have indoor loading docks that are climate controlled so that means on a day like today in the winter (if you live in southern ontario), once you park your car in our loading docks, you’ll be cozy and warm!  Bring the smores!

And it also means, I know its hard to imagine now, in the summertime, once you park your vehicle in our loading docks, you’ll be cool and composed even if its a heat wave outside!

The entire facility is climate controlled so that when you’re moving, once you step a foot into one of our facilities, you’ll be greeted by agreeable, soothing temperatures.

Many places boast of  having climate control and they certainly might have a form of it but here at Storage Spot we have an advanced system designed like the HVAC (Heathing, ventiliation, Air-Conditioning) in your home for true climate control that keeps everything temperature controlled right from the bottom of your stuff to the tippy top close to the ceiling of your unit.

1. What is your favourite movie/song?

- My favourite movie would have to be The Notebook. I went to school for gerontology and dementia studies. I will always feel for the people and their families who suffer from Alzheimer’s. The movie displayed the heart wrenching reality for those families.

2. If you were a salad, what kind of dressing would you want?

- Something creamy. I would like to stay warm in the fridge.

3. Hollywood has made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?

- Jennifer love Hewitt. She was great on Party of Five. She also seems to stay out of the spotlight.

4. You have just won the lottery and want to use it to make the world a better place, what would you do with the money?

- Set up a drop off center for people suffering from Alzheimer’s so their caregivers can have a much deserved break.. There would also be a place for the caregivers to get some counseling .

5. If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you take with you?

• A picture of my son.
• Water
• Food

6. What are the qualities you admire most in a friend?

• Honest
• Trustworthy
• Patient

7. If you could be a superhero, which superhero would you be?

- Mighty mouse

Storage Spot in the Community

It’s that time of the year where people all over the world are giving and receiving.

On most of the faces you pass in the street, you’ll find either a smile because that person knows exactly what to get for their special someone, or a befuddled look for the person that hasn’t yet started shopping with only a few days left before the holidays!

Here at Storage Spot, we like to give back to the community by working with various companies whose goal it is to help others like Children’s Aid, Halton Women’s Shelter and the Salvation Army.

So how can we all help out?

Storage Spot Canada takes in gently used items from the public and puts them into units assigned to each charity to keep them safe and secure and have them ready at any time for the charity to access the units.

Come on out and visit Storage Spot Canada and drop off any gently used items such as:

• clothing,
• furniture,
• household goods.

And even though it goes without saying, make sure whatever you drop off is clean and in good condition.

1. What is your favourite movie/song?

- Favorite “movie” is actually the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. If I were to pick one of three though my favorite would have to be “Dead Man’s Chest”

3. If you were a salad, what kind of dressing would you want?

- Italian…its zesty

4. Hollywood has made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?

- I would have to say Johnny Depp, but for comedic purposes Im going with Jack Black.

5. You have just won the lottery and want to use it to make the world a better place, what would you do with the money?

- It would be nice, but money wont make the world a better place

6. If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you take with you?

- My ipod and solar charger loaded with movies and music, fuel, and a seadoo boat to get back to main land

7. What are the qualities you admire most in a friend?

- Not to serious, funny, big hockey fan (except a Leafs fan!!! j/k)

8. If you could be a superhero, which superhero would you be?

- Professor X…I get to lead a bunch of superheroes in the X-men!

Things that go boom in the night!

At Storage Spot, we really don’t want anything to go boom in the night at any of our facilities!

So, we have come up with a list of things that you absolutely must not store in your unit.

These are the items that you cannot store in your unit:

• Flammable Liquids or Fuels (e.g. paints, paint thinner, liquid bleach, matches, candles, aerosol cans).
• Corrosives
• Explosives
• Firearms or Ammunition
• Perishable Food Products
• Toxic Materials
• Live Animals
• Anything for Illegal Purposes

Scary Storage!

Our story takes place at a Storage Unit somewhere in North America…

As she approached the darkened, seemingly deserted storage building, a flock of crows scattered upwards into the black sky.

A loud creaking sound followed the opening of the main door as a black cat dashed furtively through her legs.

Startled,  she fumbled blindly for the light switch to guide her to her unit.

Even though it was cold outside, it was even colder inside as she inched slowly, tripping over the clutter of scattered garbage at her feet,  towards her dusty storage unit.

“What was that noise?!” She thought as she  glanced over her shoulder behind her…a gasp escaping from her lips…

Sound familiar?

Lets face it.  Some storage facilities were clearly designed with Halloween in mind…without the treat!

Here at Storage Spot, we have designed our facilities specifically with women in mind. Which not only makes them feel safe, but also their stuff.
